Farming lights

What lighting do I need?

To keep you from drowning in the supply, we'll give you a hand! As a farmer, you find yourself in different situations and each situation requires a different type of lighting. Below we have a number of situations you are bound to find yourself in! Want to know more about the lighting zones of our products? Then take a look at our lighting zones page.

Work in the dark

When you are still ploughing or harvesting late at night, for example, you could do with extra lighting for both near and far, as well as in width.

  • Distant lighting: When you are busy, it is useful to know in time when you need to turn the corner or if you might encounter other obstacles. To always have good visibility from afar, we recommend a driving light. A driving light is a powerful lamp specially designed to shine light over long distances of up to 600 to 800 metres. This type of light has a narrow beam angle, usually between 10 and 30 degrees, so it delivers focused light that is ideal for illuminating long distances.
  • Close-up lighting: Close-up lighting is important for operating a machine accurately. Work lights allow you to clearly see what is happening directly in front of you, such as soil structure and any problems with the machine itself. Work lights are specially designed to provide a bright and focused light on the area directly around the machine. They come in different shapes and sizes, but they all have one common goal: to ensure optimal visibility.
  • Wide lighting: When you want wide visibility in addition to far away, an LED bar is a perfect solution. This lighting is ideal for use during harvesting, for example, when you not only need to see directly in front of you, but also want an overview of your surroundings. An LED bar is an elongated lamp that contains multiple LEDs, designed to spread light both far and wide. A typical LED bar often has a distribution of about 60% scattered light and 40% wide-emitting light. This means that the far-emitting portion allows you to see further, while the wide-emitting portion ensures that you can also keep a good eye on the sides.

Machine maintenance

While performing maintenance on machines or vehicles in the shed or field, you need close-range lighting.

  • Lighting for close-up: When you need good visibility around your tractor or machine, such as maintenance, work lights are indispensable. Work lamps offer high light output (up to 140 lumens/watt) and long life (up to 20,000 hours), giving you reliable lighting at all times. With an IP67 or IP68 rating, they are dust- and waterproof, perfect for challenging environments. Flexible mounting options and a colour temperature of 5,000-6,500K allow you to accurately identify parts and problems, making maintenance a lot easier!

Conveyance of goods

When driving a tractor or other machine on the road or in the field, especially in the dark or in bad weather, good height and marker lights are needed. This could include the options below.

  • Highlight: Suppose you see a yellow/amber flashing light in the distance during a dark foggy day. You meteeen know this is a slow-moving vehicle, that's because it has its flashing light on. These beacons offer 360-degree visibility and are visible up to 1 kilometre away, which in turn helps you and other road users see it in time.
  • Marking lights: Imagine driving a wide trailer at night. Without proper marker lighting, it is difficult for other drivers to assess how wide your combination is. Marker lights solve this problem by clearly indicating the outline of your vehicle and trailer.

Work during bad weather

Simply imagine you have to go out into the field early in the morning, but there is a dense fog. Your visibility is limited and you know there could be obstacles. In this situation, fog lights are indispensable.

  • Fog lights: Fog lights are ideal for tractors when driving in adverse weather conditions, such as fog or heavy rain. They shine a wide, low beam of light close to the ground. Most of our fog lights have yellow light, which helps reduce reflections to give you even more visibility. This makes it so much easier to see obstacles and ensure that other road users notice you better.

FAQs

Do you have any questions about our products? We are ready to help you! Below we provide answers to the most frequently asked questions about our products for the agricultural sector.

Do you have agricultural LED lighting?

In the agricultural sector, different types of LED lighting are indispensable for efficient and safe working. LED bars, for example, are great for those who need both broad light close up and remote lighting. They provide a perfect overview during harvesting and make it easy to view large areas. LED work lights, in turn, are ideal for precise tasks, such as machine maintenance or detailed work where you need sharp vision. They ensure you can see exactly what you are doing, even in dark conditions. LED headlamps make up the third major category, replacing traditional lighting with better visibility on the road and during field work.

All in all, we have a wide range in trigger lighting!

What lighting is mandatory on a tractor?

If you are travelling in a farm vehicle, good lighting is incredibly important. Every agricultural vehicle must be equipped with different types of lighting to drive safely. This means you need headlights, both low beam and high beam, so you can see well and be seen properly. In addition, tail lights and brake lights are essential so that other road users know when you are stopping or changing direction. Don't forget your direction indicators either, which are needed to show where you are going. Reflectors are also mandatory, at the rear you must have a red reflector and on the sides orange reflectors. For vehicles wider than 2.1 metres, you need marker lights, and for vehicles longer than 6 metres, side marker lights are compulsory.

When is a flashing light mandatory?

A flashing light is not always necessary, but in certain situations it is. You need a flashing light if your vehicle, including cargo, is wider than 2.60 metres. But a flashing light is also compulsory if you drive on public roads at a speed below 25 km/h. In addition, you must use it if you are carrying out work on or alongside the public road where other road users could be inconvenienced. This ensures that everyone can continue to drive safely.

What are the certification requirements for tractor lighting?

Our beacons and flashers are mostly ECE-R65 certified. This means they comply with European safety regulations, so you can drive safely on the road. For other electrical components in our lighting, we also have ECE-R10 certification, which ensures that everything works properly without malfunctions.

In addition, we want you to always be able to rely on our lighting, whatever the weather. That's why all our products are dust- and waterproof, with an IP rating of at least IP67. This means they can withstand a little rain and dust, so you can work without worry.

And many of our products have a CE mark. This gives you the assurance that they meet all European safety standards. With us, you're not only buying lighting, but also feeling safe when you're at work!
