Bull bars car for extra protection and a tough appearance
A bull bar is a tubular construction mounted to the front of a vehicle. Originally, bull bars were developed to protect the vital parts of a car in collisions with large wildlife. Hence, they are also known as cattle pushers or front bars. Today, car bull bars still serve that protective function, but they have also become just as popular because of the powerful look they give to a vehicle.
Especially for passenger cars, SUVs, and crossovers, a bull bar ensures that the front of the car immediately looks more powerful, wider, and tougher. In addition, a bull bar offers the option to install extra accessories at the front of your car. Think, for example, of LED light bar or extra Driving lights car that can be beautifully integrated onto the bull bar. But even without extra lighting, a bull bar immediately gives a car a much tougher look.
Find the perfect finish for your car bull bar
For most car models, bull bars are available in two versions, namely high-gloss stainless steel and matte black. Although the shape of the bull bar often remains the same, the finish largely determines how the car ultimately looks.
High-gloss stainless steel gives the front of the vehicle a more classic and robust appearance. This version stands out particularly well on larger SUVs and vehicles with plenty of chrome accents. At the same time, the reflective finish ensures that the bull bar truly becomes part of the car's complete styling.
Meanwhile, the matte black variant in particular has become enormously popular in recent years. Black bull bars blend perfectly with modern bumpers, black grille accents, and dark bodywork details. As a result, a vehicle often gets an even sportier and more aggressive appearance without looking overdone.

Specially tailored to passenger cars
Bull bars for cars differ considerably from the versions you see, for example, on trucks, pickups, or heavy vans. For passenger cars, it is much more about a good balance between appearance, size, and integration with the design of the vehicle.
That is why you mainly see tube diameters between 60 and 76 millimeters on car bull bars. The 63 millimeter version is particularly popular. This size fits the proportions of modern passenger cars and SUVs perfectly. The bull bar looks sturdy and powerful without making the front of the car feel too heavy.
Larger tube diameters like 76 millimeters are more commonly found on larger vehicles such as pickups, trucks, and commercial vans. This keeps a car bull bar much better in proportion with the original lines of the vehicle.
The bull bars themselves are made of stainless steel about 1 millimeter thick. This makes them sturdy enough to absorb an impact, while the material can flex sufficiently to comply with regulations.
Parking sensors and modern safety systems
Many modern cars are equipped with parking sensors, ACC, or Emergency Brake Assist today. Consequently, the question frequently arises whether a bull bar causes problems with these systems.
With parking sensors, it can happen that a sensor partly "sees" the bull bar when the tube falls exactly within the detection field. Fortunately, in many cases, this is easily solved by placing a sticker on the inner two sensors. In addition, we also offer bull bars that are specially shaped to stay completely out of range of the parking sensors.
In most cases, this kind of information is listed in the product specifications of the bull bar. If you can't find anything about it or want to be absolutely sure beforehand that everything will continue to work well, we can of course always check that for you.
Besides parking sensors, systems like Adaptive Cruise Control and Emergency Brake Assist must naturally be taken into account. A bull bar must absolutely not block these systems. Therefore, we exclusively offer bull bars from manufacturers who specifically tailor their designs to modern safety systems. The tubes run precisely along the radar's detection field, ensuring the systems continue to function correctly.

Car bull bars with E-mark
Regulations surrounding car bull bars are quite strict nowadays. The most important guiding principle is that a vehicle with a bull bar must not cause more injury in a collision than a vehicle without a bull bar.
Therefore, legal bull bars are provided with an E-mark. This lets you know that the bull bar has been tested according to current European regulations and is approved for use on public roads. The majority on our website feature such an E-mark, making them Car bull bars with E-mark. To be sure, always check the product page for the certifications the bull bar has, so you know you will be driving legally on public roads.
You can find more information about this on our page: Are bull bars allowed in the UK?
Frequently asked questions about car bull bars
Yes, you absolutely can. By far most bull bars in our range feature an official European E-mark (EU type-approval). As long as the bar is approved for your type of car, it meets all strict European safety requirements and your car will easily pass the MOT test.
In most cases, no. Virtually all our push bars are designed to be mounted onto the existing mounting points of your car's chassis. Sometimes, with a specific model, a minor modification to a plastic cover might be required. Are you unsure if this applies to your car? Feel free to contact us, and we will look into it with you right away!
Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Cars with a sport pack or a different, non-standard bumper often have a deeper or wider front end. Because of this, the standard bar might not fit nicely or the mounting points could be harder to reach. What you can do yourself is check the product photos and the installation guide on our website for a good estimate. Can't figure it out? Contact us, and we will gladly discuss the possibilities with the manufacturer for you.
No worries, we have a smart solution for that. Because the tubes of the push bar can fall within the detection field of the inner parking sensors, we have special sensor stickers. You use these to cover the sensors directly behind the bar, neatly deactivating them. The outer sensors on the corners of your bumper will continue to do their job, allowing you to park safely.
The bull bar will be partly visible on your screen. If your car has a front camera, the top bar of the push bar will partially appear in the picture. If you then choose to mount driving lights or an LED bar on top of the push bar, you will lose a bit more of the camera view. Generally, you still retain enough visibility to assess the situation ahead, though you might have to rely a little more on your own driving skills during tight parking maneuvers.
You will almost always need mounting clamps for this. Since the tubes of the push bar are round, you cannot just screw lighting directly onto them. Using special stainless steel or aluminum tube clamps (available in the correct diameter of the bar), you can securely mount your driving lights or LED bar perfectly level onto the push bar in no time.
Yes, that is absolutely no problem. Our push bars are made of high-quality, durable materials (such as stainless steel or sturdy powder-coated steel) that will not rust. The construction is extremely robust and is solidly mounted to the chassis, meaning the car wash brushes won't get any harmful grip on it. You can have your car washed to a shiny finish with complete peace of mind!
